A Temple to Great Sound

Chilean-French Emcee, Anita Tijoux this Friday Live At The Pagoda 8.31.2012

Quite simply, Ana or Anita Tijoux has become one of the biggest names in Latin American Hip Hop and is emerging as one of the most intriguing voices in the global music scene period.  Her last performance in the Bay Area as was a sell-out of San Francisco’s The Independent and her appearance at the 2012 Latin Alternative Music Conference produced thousands to her showcase at Celebrate Brooklyn.  NPR labled her a “lyrical machine gun” as they recorded that performance in full for your listening pleasure here>>> Ana Tijoux Live From Celebrate Brooklyn (NPR).  For the most part, she has been an NPR darling and recently found her story being shared in the Los Angeles Times.  They had this to say, “what sets Tijoux apart in the male-dominated hip-hop world is her lush sense of melody, her sensual, jazz-infused phrasing, and her penchant for introspective disclosure over bombastic self-promotion. Her albums brim with witty confessionals about her own personal and career struggles…”

and now for all of you we have the blessing to be able to showcase her talents this Friday(August 31st) for the Live At The Pagoda Summer Music Series V.6 along with Panamanian/Oakland duo Los Rakas, San Jose’s Turbo Sonidero Futuristico, hosted by MEXTAPE.  Tickets for this are moving fast, suggesting that maybe getting your tickets in advance would be smart as the early bird priced tickets have sold out, and currently are at $16…http://anatijouxliveatthepagoda.eventbrite.com/
